Dr. Ric Panganiban, head of City Health Office and the Puerto Princesa City Covac Program, in a bulletin update issued on Monday, said 23,611 individuals were considered fully vaccinated, having received their second dose of anti-COVID jab and a single dose of Janssen vaccine.
“On August 11 (Wednesday), the team will transfer to Macarascas to vaccinate residents from Macarascas, Buenavista, Bahile, and Salvacion cluster,” read Panganiban’s statement issued on Monday through the City Mayor’s Office.
The Puerto Princesa Covac team has also conducted COVID-19 vaccinations in rural barangays inoculating 438 individuals in Bgys. Luzviminda, Sta. Lucia, and Mangingisda; 363 city residents in New Panggangan and Marufinas; 1,609 individuals in Cabayugan cluster; 533 in Napsan cluster; and 1,513 in Inagawan Subcluster.
Breaching 11 percent of its total target of at least 201,000 city residents inoculated, Puerto Princesa City Covac data as of August 9 showed 23,611 residents completed their second dose, while 39,308 were administered with their first dose from a combination of anti-COVID jabs including Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, and Janssen.
Puerto Princesa’s “mega vaccination” site at the City Coliseum, and the SM Puerto Princesa cinema, Robinson’s Place Palawan, and NCCC Mall which had been retrofitted as a vaccination satellite clinic, churns at least 1,500 jabs administered daily.
The city needs to vaccinate 201,000 of its 210,000 residents to achieve herd immunity.
