ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews / 2 Dec) – The city now has 42 percent of its target population fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and 78 percent partially, at the end of the three-day National Vaccination Drive from November 29 to December 1.
Dr. Dulce Miravite, city health officer, said 289,511 of the city’s residents are now fully vaccinated – 273,647 already got their second dose of the two-dose vaccines, and 15,864 more were jabbed with the single-dose Janssen vaccine.
The city’s target population to be vaccinated is 684,063 individuals, or 70 percent of the 2020 population of 977,234.
The City Health Office said 39 centers conducted vaccination in the past three days, serving 19,569 Zamboangueños. Of these, 3,338 were fully inoculated, while 16,231 got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Miravite said they have already administered 832,384 doses, 542,873 of which with the double-dose vaccines.
The CHO has opened a total of 52 vaccination sites composed of barangay health centers, schools, malls, hospitals, private-owned buildings, and a church. Vaccination is set to continue up to the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health Zamboanga Peninsula, in its Regional Case Bulletin, reported that as of November 29, there are 1,216 active cases in the entire region: 403 from Zamboanga City, 458 from Zamboanga del Norte, 178 from Zamboanga del Sur, 103 from Isabela City, and 74 from Zamboanga Sibugay.
