LAW ENFORCERS seized about P1 million in smuggled cigarettes and arrested four individuals behind it at the checkpoint in Sirawan, Toril Tuesday dawn.
Based on the report, personnel of the Task Force Davao and Davao City Police Office arrested Arturo T Albania, 55, married; Glen M Lumapas,46, single; Alvin John C Elorcha, 27, married; and, Nolven S Reponte, 31, single, all residents of Sinawilan, Matanao Davao Del Sur.
Captain John Louie Dema-ala, spokesperson of the military unit, said the four tried to sneak into the city 2,050 reams of smuggled cigarettes in a vehicle with an estimated value of P1.025 million.
The four and their cargo were immediately brought to the Toril Police Station as investigators were preparing the filing of cases against them.
