Former senator and Liberal Party president Manuel “Mar” Roxas II formally endorsed the re-election bid of Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.
Roxas said his endorsement is due to many factors, especially Dadivas’ leadership amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Nga-a si Ronnie? Nga-a man indi. Saludo ako sa iya wholeheartedly kag guinhimo niya ang iya obligasyon nga pag-alaga sa aton mga kasimanwa sa Roxas City nga daw isa gid ka amay. Wala niya kamo guinpabay-an,” Roxas said.
(Why Ronnie? And why not? I wholeheartedly salute him for taking care of our constituents in Roxas City like a true father. He did not neglect you)
The former senator noted the continuous distribution of rice to 45,000 families since 2020.
Dadivas promised to increase the rice allocation to 15 kilos per family per month.
The establishment of the RT-PCR Laboratory in Roxas City, which was one of the first to do so in the country, also protected public health.
“Sa aton pagbangon, si Ronnie nagaumpisa na hulag. From a scale of 1 to 10, 12 ang akon grado sa iya performance. Bilog ang akon suporta sa iya. Ara sa maayo nga kamot ang Roxas City kon siya ang Mayor,” Roxas said.
(As we recover, Ronnie is now starting to move. From a scale of 1 to 10, I will give him a grade of 12 for his performance. He has my full support. Roxas City is in good hands while he is mayor.)
Dadivas thanked Roxas for the vote of confidence even as he assured that no one will get hungry and will continue improving their COVID-19 response.
