The program was implemented by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in collaboration with the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO).
Each of the 721 PWDs received P2,500 worth of financial assistance under the Educational Financial Assistance Program.
According to Mary Ann Zamora, PWD Affairs officer, the program aims to support the education of PWDs or their children who are in elementary and high school.
Aside from the financial assistance, the Capitol also gave the beneficiaries food packs containing 5 kilos of rice, 5 cans of sardines, and 5 cans of corned beef.
Officials who distributed the aids were 2nd District Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon and Sajid Khan Eusoof, Guagua Mayor Tonton Torres, and Sasmuan Mayor Catalina Cabrera.
The educational finance assistance program (EFAP) for PWDs is a program of the provincial government which started in 2013—during the tenure of then-governor, now vice-governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.
The program was sustained
to this day under the leadership of Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
