GINGOOG City Vice Mayor Peter Unabia is leading the gubernatorial race in Misamis Oriental.
As of 2:17 this afternoon, Commission on Elections’ partial unofficial results show Unabia raked in 247,808, followed by Juliet Uy with 181,552 votes, and Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno, who has already conceded earlier today, with 89,040 votes.
For the vice gubernatorial race between the two brothers, the younger and incumbent Vice Governor Jeremy Jonahmar Pelaez is leading with 249,946 votes while Joey Pelaez who is under the National Unity Party is 153, 829.
The Board Members for the 1st District on the list were: Wayne Militante, Marlon Kho, Rey Buhisan, Erik Khu, and Jabbi Bernaldez.
For the province’s second district: Syrae Mae Emano, Gerardo Sabal, and Dexter Yasay (three are incumbents), while new contenders who are also in the top five were Princess Emano and Bliss Francis Acain under the NUP.
While for the congressional race for the 1st District, the son of Peter Unabia leads with 114,395 votes followed by Karen Lagbas with 105,447.
In the 2nd District, incumbent Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano leads the race with 165,712 while his closest opponent Julio Uy has 126,933 votes.
These partial and unofficial tallies come from 1,069 precincts out of 1,073 precincts across the entire province. The canvassing is still ongoing.
Princess Emano, who is a new contender under the National Unity Party (NUP) of the Uy’s in Villanueva, posted on her Facebook page that as much as she wanted to celebrate since she’s in the top five for the Board member’s race for the 2nd district, her heart still bleeds.
“As much as I wanted to celebrate but my heart bleeds for what happened, I thank you, Cong. Juliette Uy and Atty. Julio Uy for everything. You have helped me raise up again and believe that I can do this. I did but without you both and the whole team makes me feel useless but this opportunity is precious. Salamat sa Pagsalig,” posted Emano.
