AFTER three years, the Emanos are finally back in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
Today, Nadya Emano-Elipe has been declared the official winner of the mayoral seat in Tagoloan town.
Emano-Elipe, along with other winners, was officially proclaimed at 4:25 am today at the Municipal Comelec of Tagoloan town.
The incumbent Mayor Gomer Sabio, who served for three years, lost to Emano-Elipe with almost seven thousand votes.
According to ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2022 website, Emano-Elipe raked 24,226 votes from 81 clustered precincts in the entire Tagoloan while Sabio got 17,311 votes.
Meanwhile, Robinson Sabio won against his nephew Jerson Sabio as vice mayor of the town.
The winning municipal councilors were Mikka Sultan, Chicque Cosin, Roger Achas, Atty. Cathleen Valdehuesa, Kim Agustero, Honey Emano-Doña, Armando Pomar, and Audie Paduganan.
Although Tagoloan Mayor Gomer Sabio has not issued an official statement, he posted on his Facebook page the lyrics to the song ‘Just once.’
“I did my best but I guess my best wasn’t good enough,” Sabio posted on his wall.
At the end of the lyrics, Sabio posted “To Mayor Nadya, congratulations.”
Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano joined his sister Emano-Elipe in thanking the people of Tagoloan for giving them a chance to serve the town again after three years.
“Walay among laing damgo kon dili paghatag ug serbisyo ug kahupayan para sa lungsod sa Tagoloan,” Emano said.
It can be recalled that Tagoloan is a known bailiwick of the Emanos, starting with the late patriarch Vicente Y. Emano.
