Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – After recent allegations by President Rodrigo Duterte that a presidential aspirant is a cocaine-user, former Senator and Presidential bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. underwent a drug test on Monday, and yielded a negative result.
Marcos Jr. said he took a cocaine test from an unidentified hospital on Monday and was later announced by his campaign manager, Atty. Vic Rodriguez that Marcos’ result turned out negative for the substance.
Rodriguez added that the former Senator’s drug testing result have been forwarded to the Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
In a recent interview, the Presidential aspirant said in a statement, “Siyempre negative ako” while maintaining that President Duterte was not implying his claims on Marcos.
Marcos added that he took the challenge in undergoing the drug test to guarantee Filipinos that he does not support illegal drugs.
“I really don’t feel that I am the one being alluded to,” Marcos said. In spite of that, I believe it is my inherent duty as an aspiring public official to assure my fellow Filipinos that I am against illegal drugs,” Marcos added.
