Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – For almost 2 months now, COVID-19 variants of special concern including the deadlier Delta variant continues to ravage Isabela as its province-wide active cases has breached the 5000-mark once again on Monday, October 4.
The Provincial Health Office of Isabela on Monday has reported 410 new positive cases, 15 new deaths and 305 recoveries pushing the total active infections to 5,176.
Hardest-hit municipalities are Cauayan City which has 578, Santiago City with 377, Angadanan with 348, Echague with 325, Delfin Albano with 257, Ramon with 234, Alicia with 232, Tumauini with 212, Ilagan City with 185, and Roxas with 177.
Other towns with three digit current COVID-19 numbers are Naguilian with 163, Aurora with 162, Gamu with 156, San Mariano with 154, Luna with 122, Jones with 118, and Sto. Tomas with 112.
The epicenter of infections in Cauayan City currently has extended its Hybrid General Community Quarantine Bubble imposing stricter protocols until October 15 to control the spread of COVID-19.
Although under Alert Level 4 placed by the Department of Health (DOH) last September 21 due to surging infections and hospital bed occupancy rate over 70%, the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has classified Isabela province under GCQ with heightened restrictions until October 31. TNF
