Consumer advocates in Negros will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. today at the Negros Press Club (NPC) Media Center, to launch the Protect and Save the CENECO Consumers (PSCC), a movement spearheaded by Power Watch Negros Advocates Inc., a press release from the group said.
PWNA/PSCC will issue a declaration and will pass a resolution urging the National Electrification (NEA) to declare CENECO as an ailing cooperative.
Among the agenda to be discussed is House Resolution No. 475 introduced by Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya, enumerating a litany of multifarious violations committed by CENECO in the report submitted by the House of Representatives Committee on Energy during the 18th Congress, which recommended sanctions against CENECO for violations of the provisions of energy laws on October 2021.*
