Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan party which backs Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s run for Presidency in 2022, said on Thursday that Go is not backing out of the race.
PDDS party president Greco Belgica said in a statement, “No talks about backing out. Tuloy lang kami. Totoo naman na nakakagulat para sa lahat. But we have a job and a duty to fulfill.”
Go’s supporting party added that his bid to continue with the race is to sustain the projects of the current administration against illegal drugs, terrorism and corruption.
On Wednesday, the Presidential aspirant said in a statement that he is still “in a state of shock” after joining the Presidential race following his substitution and did not rule out his possible withdrawal from his bid for Presidency in 2022.
“Ngunit sa totoo lang po, nagreresist po talaga ang aking utak, puso at aking katawan. Nabigla po ako dito sa pagtakbo. Napakahirap po ng aking sitwasyon. Iniisip ko pa nang mabuti. Nag-aantay po ako ng sign sa Panginoon. Kung sa tingin niyang, dito ka na lang Bong, susundin ko po at syempre yung Pilipino.”
Meanwhile, PDP-Laban president and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said Go was just being honest with his statement.
Cusi said in a statement, “I’m sure all candidates, one way or another, must have entertained the thought of withdrawing. SBG just being honest, verbalised it.” TNF
