INCUMBENT Cagayan de Oro City 1st District Rep. Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy was among the early birds to file his certificate of candidacy for city mayor at 11:26 am yesterday.
His running mate, incumbent city councilor Edna Dahino filed her candidacy for vice mayor filed earlier at 9:35 am. While Uy’s son, incumbent vice mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy filed his candidacy for congressional representation for the city’s 1st district at 11:32 am.
The father, son, and Dahino are running for office under the National Unity Party.
A staff of the Commission on Elections-City Office said the father-son tandem sent a representative to file their certificates of candidacy while Dahino filed her candidacy personally.
The last to file his candidacy on the first day of filing was Roberto Amplayo, who is running independently, is gunning for a seat at the city council for the 1st district at 2:01 pm.
The first day of filing of certificates of candidacy officially closed at 5:25 pm, Friday.
The filing of candidacy is slated from October 1 to 8 and includes Saturday and Sunday. (Cong B. Corrales)
