Security preparations are now in place for the opening of face-to-face classes today in Western Visayas, disclosed regional police director PBrig. Gen. Leo Francisco.
A total of 271,771 students in all levels are expected to return to school in Negros Occidental on August 22.
Ian Arnold Arnaiz, Department of Education- Division of Negros Occidental spokesperson, said the division is all set for blended, distance learning or face-to-face classes.
In a statement, Francisco said he already gave orders to all unit commanders to ensure that “everyone is safe and the resumption of face-to face classes will be peaceful.”
“Law enforcement operations will be intensified to prevent the occurrence of crime and to prevent lawless elements from launching their evil plans,” he stressed.
The PRO 6 also maximizes the deployment of its personnel in identified strategic areas such as terminals, transportation hubs, vicinities of the schools and main thoroughfares, where police assistance desks have been established.
Francisco disclosed that traffic enforcement units of local government units will be tapped to help the police in manning the traffic to ensure the smooth movement and flow of vehicles.*
