Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – As Tropical Depression Maymay brings heavy rainfall over Cagayan and Tuguegarao, the Local Government Unit of the key city has hoisted the Liquor Ban for safety of its citizens.
The announcement was released by the LGU at noon time Wednesday, also underscoring the suspension of all government work except for frontline & essential services.
According to the Tuguegarao City Information Office, the LGU leaves the discretion of the heads of agencies and offices of private establishments with the cancellation of work.
City Mayor Maila Ting-Que advises all citizens to stay alert and updated with the LGU’s announcements on the progress of the weather disturbance as well as its effects in the city.
Classes from pre-school to senior high school both in private and public schools have also been suspended early on Wednesday.
According to DOST PAGASA, the Cagayan River and its tributaries are currently on safe levels, however, with current dense rainfall, the river’s size and levels are expected to rise starting Wednesday.
As of Wednesday morning, the Buntun Bridge Water Levels are currently below its Alert Level at 2.4 meters while all raods and bridges are still accessible to vehicles. TNF
