Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Low Pressure Area spotted east of Eastern Visayas has developed into Tropical Depression ‘Paeng’ and is now moving westward & may shift northwestward close to Northern Luzon starting tomorrow, according to PAGASA.
The state weather bureau said in its 11am report on Wednesday, Oct 26, that ‘Paeng’ was last spotted 965kms east of Eastern Visayas with 45kph winds and gusts reaching 55kph.
Paeng is moving slowly generally westward on Wednesday, however, Pagasa said it will shift movement northwestward starting Thursday until Saturday morning.
The storm is seen to pass close to Northern Luzon by Sunday or Monday.
The agency has also not ruled out the possibility of a landfall.
What to Expect
Moderate to Heavy rainfall is expected over Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, CAR, Nueva Ecija and the rest of Cagayan Valley by Friday morning through Saturday.
Pagasa also noted rainfall over Bulacan, Visayas, Rizal, Laguna, Mindoro, Bicol Region, Marinduque and nearby areas.
It also advises flood and landslide prone areas to prepare for the effects of heavy rains amid the oncoming storm. TNF
