Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Two million jabs of Sinovac CoronaVac have arrived in the country on Monday, September 13.
The newly arrived Sinovac batch of vaccines against COVID-19 are part of the 22 million Sinovac doses recently procured by the Philippine Government.
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. bared on Monday that 12 million shots of the Chinese-developed vaccines are set to arrive in PH in September, and another 10 million in October.
The said vaccines set to arrive this month and in October are on top of the total 26 million shots bought by the government from China pushing the total procured Sinovac doses to 48 million.
Galvez added that for the allocation of the Sinovac vaccines, priority regions such as Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Davao Region, Central Luzon and hardest-hit areas will receive 2 million of the vaccine shots.
There are now over 15 million Filipinos who are fully-vaccinated while only 20.8 million are given their first doses.
