16-year old girl, latest COVID patient in Digos City

DIGOS CITY – A 16-year old girl was found positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Tuesday, July 14 here and became this city’s latest COVID-positive resident.

The Digos City Health Office (CHO) said that the patient is currently admitted at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City.

The girl has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and had multiple admissionsat SPMC, the CHO said.

The patient experienced difficulty of breathing early this week and was brought to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital for consultation.

Chest X-ray showed that she has pneumonia.

She subsequently underwent RT-PCR and tested POSITIVE for COVID-19, the CHO said.

The CHO said Digos City has eleven suspected cases with pending results and zero probable cases, while there is currently one confirmed case.

The CHO also reported 51 persons under close monitoring and under strict home quarantine, while 18 others are currently housed at the Digos City Isolation Unit. (Dondon Dinoy)
