CEBU, Philippines — Business establishments, particularly restobars, in Cebu City were found to be more compliant to standard health protocols following recent incidents of non-compliance that have put similar businesses in hot water.
This was noted during a surprise inspection Friday night participated by no less than retired Major General Melquiades Feliciano, chief implementer in the Visayas of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Also present in the inspection were Acting Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama; Cebu City Police Office Director Josephino Ligan; Councilor Joel Garganera, chief of the city’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC); PROBE’s Raquel Arce, and BPLO’s head, Atty. Jared Limquiaco.
They checked around 20 establishments at the Bonifacio District along Panagdait in Barangay Kasambagan, IT Park, and in Barangay Banilad. — Dominic I. Dilao (FREEMAN)
