Carmen, Gusa report highest number of virus cases in Oro

CITY Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said Thursday, September 17, that Barangays Carmen and Gusa have the most number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro with 31 and 21 cases, respectively.

Following the two aforementioned barangays are Barangay Kauswagan with 20 cases, Barangay Lumbia with 18 cases, Barangay Nazareth with 14 cases, Barangay Camaman-an with nine cases, and Barangay Bulua with eight cases.

Barangays Macabalan, Balulang and Indahag have seven cases; Barangays Iponan and Lapasan have six cases; Barangays 35, Macasandig, Bayabas, Patag, and Agusan have five cases; Barangays Puntod, Tablon and Cugman have four cases; Barangay 26 has three cases; Barangays 24, Pagatpat, 31, Bugo, and 27 have two cases; and Barangays Canitoan, 17, 9, and Mambuaya have one case each.

Meanwhile, four persons who had tested positive for the novel coronavirus are now tagged as “recovered” after their repeat swab test result came out negative on Wednesday, September 16.

This brought the total number of Covid-19 recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 297.

Of the four new recoveries, three are locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and one is a local Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor), Retuya reported.

Those who have recovered are: a 26-year-old male local Apor, a healthcare worker in a private hospital, residing in Barangay Patag; a 26-year-old male LSI from Sampaloc, Manila and a resident of Barangay Camaman-an; a 52-year-old female LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay Puntod; and a 24-year-old female LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Bulua.

The localized focused containment of two areas in Cagayan de Oro were lifted, namely: MB Ramonal in Barangay Nazareth and Phase 1 Ecoverde Subdivision in Barangay Indahag.
