Sputnik Gang member involved in illegal drug trade arrested

AN ALLEGED member of the Sputnik Gang was arrested by the local police in Mabalacat City, Pampanga recently after he was reportedly involved in an illegal drug sale.

Jake “Nognog” Jose, 36, welder, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tibag in Barangay San Francisco, Mabalacat City.

Lieutenant Colonel Soledad Elefanio, officer in charge of the city police, said operatives of the Mabalacat City Drug Enforcement Unit, headed by Major Fernando Tolentino, conducted the operation that led to Jose’s arrest.

Police seized two grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P13,600 and a P500 bill used as marked money.

Elefanio said the suspect was a member of the Sputnik Gang and involved in the illegal drug trade in said village.

Jose was also listed in the Database of Illegal Drug Personalities in the city.

Charges for violation of Section 5 & 11, Art. II of Republic Act 9165 are being readied against the suspect.

Elefanio said they are committed to stopping the proliferation of illegal drugs in the city.
