THE worth of damage to agriculture products in Central Luzon caused by monsoon rains has reached over P383 million as of Tuesday, August 3.

Based on the consolidated report of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the worth of damage to rice, corn and high-value

Pampanga took the biggest hit with total damage amounting to P206,905,197.98, of which P206,680,712.98 is on rice crops and P224,485 on corn crops.

Bataan province also suffered P61,145,182 worth of damage, of which P58,661,337.50 is on rice crops, P63,295 on corn crops, P1,687,549.50 on high value crops, and P733,000 on livestock.

Tarlac, Aurora, and Nueva Ecija provinces incurred losses on its palay production amounting to P67,912,895.12, P9,823,574.36 and P3,121,209.28, respectively, while Zambales reported damage to rice crops worth P10,122,489.02 and corn crops worth P53,445.

The province of Bulacan also reported damage to its agriculture sector totaling to P24,799,783.83, with the rice crops making the biggest share at P24,237,895.05, followed by corn crops at P297,088.78, and livestock at P264,800.
