THE City of Mati LGU under the administration of Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat has issued Executive Order (EO) No. 82 series of 2022 which supports EO No. 03 issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the voluntary use of face mask in open spaces.

EO 82 was signed by Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat on September 22, 2022 which adopted EO 03 and Presidential Proclamation No. 57 that extended the state of calamity in the Philippines until December 31, 2022.

EO 82 however quantified and qualified the definition of “crowd” and “non-crowd”.

Under the local EO, it defines a non-crowd as a group of 3 or fewer persons while a crowd is a group of 5 or more persons.

EO 82 clearly prohibits non-wearing of facemasks in open spaces whenever there is a crowd.

Thus, regardless if the area is an open space, if there are more than 5 persons in that open space, wearing of facemask is mandatory still.

Wearing of facemask is also mandatory in indoor spaces, public utility vehicles, and other crowded areas. CIO MATI
