Duterte-Carpio said in a radio interview on Monday, May 16, that her office, which is still being finalized on whether to be established per region or per province, will be establishing a satellite office wherein individuals can reach out to seek out assistance.
The outgoing mayor said her office will outsource the help of different parallel groups supporting her.
“Daghan ta’g parallel groups man gud… sa lain-laing lugar. Actually, sa halos tanang probinsya, naa ta’y parallel groups. So ang atong (We have various parallel groups in different places. Almost all provinces have existing parallel groups. Our) plan is to harness the passion, the spirit to help, the volunteerism sa atong mga (of our) parallel groups… and magbuhat ta didto og base sa ilaha diin makapadayon gihapon sila og tabang sa ilahang mga komunidad (and we will make a base in their area wherein they can still help in their community) through the Vice President’s Office,” Duterte-Carpio said.
The mayor, who will also serve as the Education secretary in the incoming administration, said that having an extension office will help expedite the services she could offer to the communities, considering her main office will be located in Metro Manila.
“Because we intend to roll out projects under the Office of the Vice President nga dili siya (that is not) under sa Department of Education,” Duterte-Carpio said.
“Naa pa man tay lain pung gustong buhaton nga tabang sa atong mga komunidad… and ang opisina sa Vice President makabuhat ana (We wanted to extend various help to our communities… and the Office of the Vice President can do that),” Duterte-Carpio added.
The incoming Vice President said right after she cast her vote at the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School on May 9 she already prepared programs related to peacebuilding and child protection.
Meanwhile, she is set to take her oath in the city as vice president on June 19. However, this will depend if the proclamation will already be held before the targeted date.
