THE City Government of Davao is planning to open a drive-thru mobile vaccination to cater to more persons who want to be vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine.

Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said on Wednesday, August 11, the city is pushing for the drive-thru vaccination for those Dabawenyos under the Priority Groups A1 (medical frontliners), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (persons with comorbidities) who have yet to receive their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Schlosser said the proposed venue is near the Davao Crocodile Park.

“Para mas ma-serve nato tong mga A1, A2, A3 nga wala pa nagpa-vaccine na gusto na magpa-vaccine (This is so we can serve more those from A1, A2, and A3 that have already decided to get vaccinated),” the official said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio.

Schlosser said the city government will provide further details in the coming days on the proposed drive-thru vaccination.

She also said the city will be opening a special vaccination hub for those individuals who missed their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio earlier this month bared the plan of opening up a drive-thru mobile vaccination. This is on top of the mobile vaccination for seniors.

Aside from the planned drive-thru vaccination site, the city has also set up a drive-thru swabbing site near the Davao Crocodile Park in May this year to decongest its main swabbing site — the Sta. Ana Health Center.

The site caters to second and third-generation closed (F2 and F3) contacts who have received the Safe Davao QR (DQR) code push notification will now be allowed to take their swab test to either of the locations.

Duterte-Carpio said the City Government will continue to have its drive-thru swabbing site for its heightened surveillance on Covid-19 cases until November 17, 2021.
