Mayor Teresa “Nene” Alegado made the warning during their flag-raising ceremony on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, after receiving complaints from her constituents concerning the behavior of some of the municipal government’s employees.
In order to address the matter, Alegado ordered her department heads to monitor the performance and behavior and their employees.
Alegado said concerned citizens who complained to her office had told her that some of the municipal government’s employees would reportedly refuse to serve their clients if nearing closing hours.
Alegado said that the complaints that she had received affect the municipal government’s reputation before the public.
“So you have a big problem and you seek assistance but no one will entertain you because it’s not office hours. Will that make you happy? Let’s go back to the golden rule that ‘whatever you sow, you reap,’” she said in a mix of Cebuano and English.
Alegado urged her municipal employees to increase their productivity and not to be stingy when it comes to their time and talent.
Following the complaints she received, Alegado launched an investigation on the matter.
She also ordered to have their town employees monitored and immediately call their attention if complaints against them are received by her office. (TPT)
