THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Visayas has announced that Friday, September 30, 2022, will be the last day of distribution of the agency’s educational assistance to indigent students.
According to its records, around 3,000 students have yet to collect the cash aid that ranges from P1,000 for elementary students to P4,000 for college/vocational students.
DSWD 7 Director Shalaine Marie Lucero said they need to finish their report on the total beneficiaries in the region since the last batch of distribution ended on September 24 yet.
“However, we still have a number of unpaid client; those who didn’t show up during their scheduled payout and those who lacked requirements. We are trying to locate them through their local government units so they can collect the cash aid. That way, we can finish the distribution,” she said in a mix of Cebuano and English.
The DSWD central office scheduled six payouts that took place every Saturday, starting on August 20.
In Central Visayas, the DSWD 7 distributed P112.72 million worth of educational assistance to 41,702 students in the elementary, high school, senior high and college/vocational levels.
Those who are unable to collect their cash aid on September 30 will still have a chance to get it, Lucero said.
“We will use funds from our regular assistance if the students are found to be eligible or qualified,” she said in a mix of Cebuano and English. (PAC, PJB)
