Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said the augmentation personnel came from Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and three of them are police commissioned officers (PCOs).
They will be deployed in various festival sites such as the Bacolod Government Center, public plaza, Baywalk Area, Megaworld’s The Upper East, Panaad Park and Stadium, and Lacson Street, he said.
Gabana said all of them were already turned over to their respective team leaders and supervisors.
BCPO got 315 augmentation personnel from PRO-6 last week.
Aside from 189 additional personnel, Gabana said, BCPO also expects additional augmentation personnel from PRO-6 that will possibly be deployed in the highlights of the festival.
Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, director of BCPO, directed all the security personnel to observe the dos and don’ts while on duty during the MassKara Festival, Gabana said.
He said from October 1 to 10, Bacolod City was generally peaceful with no major untoward incident related to the celebration of the MassKara Festival.
MassKara Festival will be celebrated from October 1 to 23 after two years of hiatus due to the ongoing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.*
