At least 500 vehicles joined the caravan organized by the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Negros Occidental for Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who is running for vice president, on Saturday, November 6.

Negros- based Abang Lingkod Party-list and House Minority Leader Joseph Stephen “Caraps” Paduano said the caravan is a show of support for the candidacy of Go.

In a statement, the group said it commits to massively campaign towards his election as the vice president of the country this coming 2022 (elections).

Paduano said he can attest to the fact that Go “didn’t waste any opportunity in his capacities to deliver numerous programs and projects for Bacolodnons and Negrenses.”

He cited the multimillion hospitalization assistance downloaded to as far as Hinoba-an in the south and San Carlos City in the north, as well as to the regional, provincial and district hospitals in the province.

Paduano also mentioned the numerous infrastructure projects and Malasakit Centers established by Go and the latter’s special projects such as the x-ray machines and several social services like the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program which is distributed across Bacolod City and province.

“While some candidates only visit our island during election time, Sen. Go has been our strong and consistent fortress in ensuring public service for Bacolodnons and Negrenses,” the lawmaker said.

Paduano furthered that Go’s ‘common touch’, listening artistry, and responsive service make him their strong partner as Abang Lingkod Party-list continues to reach more communities, more families to serve.

Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said vehicles came from the Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth Districts in the province on top of those from Bacolod City.

Ferrer said he, Paduano and former congressman Alfredo Benitez organized the caravan on short notice but a lot of people wanted to join.

The caravan of support is their way of thanking Go for projects that provide medical assistance for the poor and financial aid to indigent and displaced workers in the province, he added.

The caravan capped with the vehicles with tarpaulins of Go converging at the Panaad Park and Stadium at Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod City.

Some mayors in the province were also sighted at the caravan.*
