NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said Monday, October 25, that they are still waiting for the go signal from the Department of Health (DOH) if they could begin administering booster shots against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Lacson said should they begin the distribution, they will follow the protocols set by the DOH.

He said the first to receive the booster shots are frontline health workers, followed by senior citizens and those with comorbidities.

“Yes, there are plans to do that, and once we receive the green light, we will immediately do that,” Lacson said.

The governor said he is hoping that the National Government will distribute a bigger number of Covid-19 vaccine doses for the province.

The province is also waiting for the DOH’s go signal for the pediatrics vaccination that will cover those from age 12 to 17 years old, Lacson added.
