THE Bacolod Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) is validating the alleged mandatory coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination requirement for the employees of a mall in the city.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, chairman of the local IATF, said Wednesday, October 14, he was informed that there was an employee working in a mall who was required to present a Covid-19 vaccination card.

“We will validate the complaint so that we can immediately address the problem,” he said.

In his personal opinion, it is a violation of labor laws since the Covid-19 vaccination is voluntary and not mandatory.

Familiaran noted that the employer cannot impose a compulsory Covid-19 vaccination for its employees because it’s voluntary.

The official urged the complainants to get the memorandum from their employer so they can file a complaint at the corresponding agency.
