BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is all set to go on full alert status during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ days on Nov. 1 and 2, respectively, with several police personnel to be deployed in cemeteries and transport terminals starting Oct. 31 to maintain peace and order and security.
Police Lieutenant Ma. Liberty Indiape, deputy public information officer of BCPO, said four cops will be deployed in each police assistance desk (PAD) in public and private cemeteries.
“…there will also be PADs in the bus and port terminals. This is to ensure that travelers are safe and secure,” she added.
On Monday, Oct. 24, Philippine National Police chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said all its offices, stations and units have been ordered to remain visible in critical areas as many people are expected to make use of the long weekend for leisure and family visits.
“The Philippine National Police is making early mobilization and preparation for the traditional All Saints’ Day holiday and a long weekend. We will go on full alert status to ensure the availability of police personnel and resources for public safety and security operations,” Azurin said.
Meanwhile, bladed weapons, firearms, pointed objects, sound systems, playing cards, and mahjong tiles are not permitted in cemeteries.
Indiape also reminded people not to leave lit candles unattended, lock their doors before visiting cemeteries, and never post their whereabouts on social media./PN
