ILOILO City – Come-backing councilor Plaridel Nava will join the oath taking of all elected officials on June 27.

He confirmed that he got an invitation from Mayor Jerry Treñas.

“I will attend the oath-taking to show to the Ilonggo people that politics can be aside in the meantime and I can work with the administration for the betterment of our city,” he told Panay News.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held at Plaza Libertad after Monday’s flag ceremony of the city hall employees.

Nava is the sole opposition who entered the “magic 12” winning city councilors last May elections. Ten of the winning councilors are allies of Treñas while the other one, re-elected city councilor Candice Magdalane Tupas, though she ran under a different political party, still supported the city mayor.

Tupas will also join the June 27 oath-taking.

Nava said he is glad to be back at city hall after three years and do genuine public service again.

Nava was a three-termer city councilor and ended his term last 2019.

As he returns to being the city’s one of the legislators, he assured that his role as a fiscalizer cannot be compromised./PN
