ANTIQUE – The provincial government is giving each employee of the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) in San Jose town a sack of rice as its way of saying thank you for their valuable service in this time of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The rice distribution started on Sept. 29; 200 of the hospital’s 629 employees have so far received rice.
Among these were job order / contractual employees of ASMGH.
Gov. Rhodora J. Cadiao said hospital employees are pandemic frontliners.
ASMGH is Antique’s referral hospital for COVID-19 cases.
Christopher Furio, emergency room nurse, welcomed the rise subsidy.
“We are happy and grateful…bahol gid dya nga bulig para kanamon nga mga frontliners,” said Furio.
Managing rising COVID-9 cases was very challenging in recent months, according to Furio.
As of Sept. 29, Antique registered 386 active COVID-19 cases, 5,145 cases that recovered and 270 cases that died./PN
