“It could be from my exposure to multiple people because of the work I do as mayor. But I will be ok,” Gomez said yesterday.
“I will need a lot of rest and will have to be in isolation until I’m better. Symptoms are mild and manageable and I will go back to work as soon as doctors will give the clearance,” he added.
According to Gomez, contact tracing is ongoing while all identified close contacts are already scheduled for swabbing.
“I ask everyone to continue to be vigilant and safe,” the mayor added.
As of July 17, Eastern Visayas reported 236 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the region’s total number of infections at 33,644, with recoveries at 31,791 and deaths at 410.
