THE Baguio City government is aiming to launch the online payment capabilities of the Baguio in My Pocket (BIMP) mobile app by mid-November, with the application set to handle payments such as certain taxes made to the city government.
The plan by the city government is to have the BIMP app payment functionality online by November 14, where it will then handle the payments of real property tax, business tax, and fees including arrival fees in the city market.
According to Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, the BIMP platform provider Information Technology Business Solutions (ITBS) Corporation has been tapped to also provide access to payments of fines for traffic violations and of utility bills in coordination with the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), the Baguio Water District (BWD) and the Benguet Electric Cooperative Inc (BENECO).
Magalong also said that the Baguio City Council will pen an ordinance to institutionalize the BIMP system.
The BIMP payment system will have the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) as its service provider.
BIMP is a government-sponsored and run collection of applications that aims to promote an e-government ecosystem and provide an all-in-one digital platform to provide key services to the people.
